Cat Bed Pictures

I had one cat bed on the couch and it was so popular a place I put out the other 2 beds I had tucked away.  The first picture is of my Leo (he was 9 days old when he arrived at my house).  He must have been comfortable as he slept there for quite a while.  The next picture is of the bed right beside Leo's bed with 2 kittens having enough room to sleep comfortably.  Then a couple of pictures of 4 kittens sleeping in a bed, kneading and joustling to get a comfortable spot.  Yes, the beds are "the" place to sleep.
The babies have been playing a lot and enjoying each other.  Pekko and Brazil will be going to Petsmart on Saturday.  Ronan, Raisin, Roo, Boston, Booker and Landon will be going as well once they get a vet check up Monday morning.  My house will be noticeably quieter with up to 8 busy babies gone for a week or even forever if they get adopted.  Yes, time to say goodbye so I must get myself prepared.

Boston, Booker and Brazil

My adorable "B" babies are growing up.  Brazil has had her vet check and is up for adoption now.  Boston sees the vet on Mon and will be up for adoption then if all goes well.  Booker is just getting over his recurring eye infection in his left eye and will be up for adoption very soon.  They are very loving babies as are the rest of the babies in my house.
My morning head count in the bathroom is interesting once in a while.  Sometimes there are only 13 babies and I have to figure out which one is the lazy baby taking their time to come into the bathroom.  They are eating over 4 big cans of canned food plus a couple of bowls of kitten crunchies every day. This means 3 big plates for the food so they can all get their fair share.
Garrick is a big, big boy.  He will be going to the vet on Monday as he has grown bigger than some of his older brothers and sisters.  He has been solid from day 1 and hasn't faltered at all.  Greta is still a petitle little girl and is doing fine as well.
It is hard to think that the time is coming for me to be saying goodbye as they leave for their forever homes.  I should have 6 babies going to Petsmart on Dec 1 which will make my house a quieter but lonlier place.  They are such affectionate babies.  I always have a kitten wanting to be held, carried, on my lap, sharing love.  My heart is filled with love for each baby as they are all unique and special in their own way.  They are having fun playing with each other and now go to play after breakfast instead of going to the basket to sleep.  They are truly happy babies who have been totally loved.
Yesterday I was looking at my Avon book before I went to work that the Avon lady had dropped off.  I looked down and there was Ronan curled up in the crook of my arm sleeping soundly.  I so often have a kitten on my lap, neck, shoulder, arms that I don't even notice anymore when they crawl onto my lap.  I talked to Ronan who was bursting with happiness. He couldn't get enough love or give enough love.  I told him we had all survived a rough, rough week when I was sick, scared and worried about all 18 of my babies.  I said "Pierce that was a week to be proud of making it throug.".  Then I realized it was not Pierce and I started crying.  I talked to Pierce a lot more than I realized and still miss him so very much. I still can't believe he is gone as I didn't have him for anywhere long enough and still had so much love to give him.

Landon and Pekko

Pekko (Peek-a-Boo) and Landon are the very best of friends.  It would be so wonderful if they got adopted together as they have a storng bond.  They were laying together in the cat bed.  Landon was rubbing his face up against Pekko's face and was in total rapture.  They play together all the time.
Wed night Pekko really, really wanted loving during the night.  Four times he woke me up wanting to be loved and lay across my neck so he could suck on the shoulder of my pyjamas.  He was so happy.  The next day I told Pekko when he was laying on the pillow on my bed that  I loved that he loved me so much but could we leave the hugging and loving for the daytime when I was not trying to sleep.  He looked me in the eye and put his paw on my cheek as if to say sorry, he understood.  Thursday night he only got me up once--I guess he just couldn't stop himself.

Life With 14 Kittens

Life is never dull with 14 smart babies.  When I come home they all come running when I use the keypad to unlock the door.  I get swarmed by a mob of gorgeous babies.
Last night I worked until 10 pm.  I came home, fed the babies, took a bath then curled up to watch a t.v. show I had recorded and really wanted to watch.  Before more than a few minutes went by I had a kitten on the back of my neck, one on each shoulder, one standing on my chest rubbing his nose with mine, two on my waist, one on my lap and some sleeping beside me.  It was hard to see the t.v. Whenever I moved a kitten out of my way to the pile beside me on the bed they all shuffled to find what they thought was a better spot.  It took about 30 minutes for them to settle so I could see the t.v.
Playing a computer card game is supper challenging (especially if it is a timed game).  Trying to see around a few heads who all want to give you their advise is not easy.  They want you to win but don't realize they are not as much help as they think they are.
There is always a baby wanting to be picked up and loved and given some one on one.  It takes many, many minutes in a day to give each one all the love they would like.  My heart is big enough to be filled with more than enough love for all of them.  My heart sings.
The group gathering in the bathroom in the morning when I get up means you have to be quite awake before shuffling out of bed.  They are so very happy to have me up.  They do start trying to get me awake and up about 5 a.m. but I resist.  They will be just fine for another hour or so longer.  They are smart and would never let me sleep if I got up and fed them every time they thought it was time for me to get up.
Yes, life is great when all the kittens are doing well, playing lots and sharing the love in their hearts.

Raisin, Ronan, Roo, Rome and Ryder

They are growing!  They are playing a lot and gaining weight nicely.  They are sweet little babies.  They are very loving and take turns wanting their special one on one with me.  Yesterday it was Rome who decided she needed extra loving.  The day before it was Ryder. But this means competing with Booker who thinks my arms and lap are his exclusively and will share.  Ryder and Rome have a bit of an eye thing starting but I started the eye ointment at the first sign of a problem so hopefully it will resolve very quickly.
Jen, no polydactyls in my house right now.
Brazil and Garrick were playing a long time this morning.  Garrick for being the youngest boy was holding his own with his very much bigger sister.  They were having a great time chasing each other and tumbling in the hallway.

Landon, Lyric and Lilac

Landon, Lyric and Lilac are getting over their upper respiratory infection.  They are doing well, just still a little snuffly.  Soon they will be going up for adoption.
The last 3 pictures are of Brazil.  She got into my box of Halloween candy.  Eventually the box was emptied and she was sleeping in an empty box,  She will be big enough to go to the vet on Tues to get microchipped, vaccinated and tested for feline leukemia.  Then in just a little while she will be big enough for adoption as she is growing quickly and never got the eye infection or upper respiratory going around (thanks to the 9 babies I got in that one holiday Monday).

Results on Garrison and Barnaby

I got the autopsy results on Garrison and Barnaby.  Garrison had a most definitie case of FIP.  I never saw that coming as he was older and I see it appear in my smaller kittens.  Barnaby had a liver defect which was totally a shock.  I am so glad it wasn't something contagious which means my house is not in deep trouble.  Two losses that were unavoidable and heartbreaking.
